Mrs. Mabel E. Cartwright, 72, of 452 Cincinnati Ave., retired employe of Frigidaire Corp., Dayton, died Tuesday at 5:02 p.m. at Greene Memorial Hospital. A lifetime resident of Xenia and Greene County, she was born here July 7, 1903, the daughter of John Addison and Josephine Benson Craig. She was a member of the auxiliary to Disabled American Veterans Harold R. Cartwright Post, named for her son who was killed in action in France in 1944. She also was a charter member of the Eagles Lodge and a member of Xenia Moose Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 718 of Xenia.
She is survived by a son, Robert E. Cartwright, retired Xenia police captain; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Shane of Springfield. Mrs. Gordon (Addie) Bagley of Fairborn, Mrs. Hazel Ball of Xenia and Miss Minnie Craig of Urbana: two brothers, Edward Craig Sr. of Spring Valley and Carl Craig of Warren County: two grandchildren, Robert T. Cartwright of Xenia and Mrs. Edward (Patricia) Gallagher of Madrid, Spain and four great-grandchildren.
