Mildred Vitula Stanley, daughter of Chas. and Grace Stanley, passed to her reward Aug. 29, 1932, at the St. Joseph's hospital, Centerville, at the age of 27 years. She was born a half mile south of Unionville in the family homestead. She was united in marriage on July 22, 1924, to E. A. Morrison. To this union was born two sons, Donald, age 7, and Richard, age 3. She was converted in early life and joined the M.E. church at Unionville, which she remained a member during her life. She was regular at Sunday school and church, with her children and took an active part with the Ladies' Aid. Also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She graduated with the class of 1924, and is the first to break the class circle. She was a devoted wife and mother. For the past year she has made her home with her father, caring for them all. Her mother and brother preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and two children, father, two brothers, Fred of Ottumwa, and Robert of San Diego, Calif., two grandmothers, Mary Vaught of Ottumwa, and Ruth Stanley of Unionville, one sister-in-law, LaRue Morrison, and one brother-in-law, John Morrison, and a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 1, at the M.E. church in Unionville, conducted by the paster, Rev. R. C. Rowe. Music was by Mrs. Emily Plitt, Miss Ruth Allender, A. L. Lyons, F. E. Boyer and Loren Alden. The pallbearers were C. C. Miller, Willard Brain, James and Wayne Morrison, Bruce Jones and Loyd Large.
Out of town relatives and friends here for the funeral were: Mrs. Mary Vaught, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Vaught and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stanley and family of Ottumwa; Mrs. Allie Denney and family of Clarinda; Mrs. J. O. More, Mrs. Hugo Johnson of Centerville; Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Buckmaster, Mrs. George Cousins, Moravia; Miss Lilly Clausen, Red Oak, Iowa.
Interment was made in Unionville cemetery beside her mother and brother. The husband and sons and father have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of the loving wife and mother, and a daughter and homemaker.
