Nov 11, 2004, The Nelson Gazette:
Ruth Elaine Bomberger was the daughter of Andrew Roy and Mary Pauline (Mandery) Bomberger born the fourth child in the family on the 19th of November, 1928. Her three older brothers, Walter, Arthur and Lloyd, always told her that any man she married would have to take them all on. Perhaps that is why she said yes to Stanley Stuart Sheets and they were married on January 29, 1951, with the blessings of her siblings. Ruth and Stan were blessed with two fine boys. Ruth was the loving and skillful homemaker until the boys were in high school, then she joined her husband in his business, taking over the record keeping and financial end. Ruth loved both jobs, raising two fine boys, and making sure the statements went out, bills paid, credit ratings good, and everyone at work were happy. Ruth was not a joiner, she left that up to her husband, but she was a sharp business woman and respected by her customers. Ruth lost her mother, Mary, in 1970. In 1973 son James joined the business, and Ruth was in her seventh heaven with two of her guys around to boss. In 1976 Stan's father, Emmett Sheets, retired, Stan became president, James became vice-president and Ruth became treasurer, and the business incorporated and modernized.

In 1978 Ruth lost her father, Andy. In 1983, Ruth lost her father-in-law, Emmett, at age 85. In 1998, Ruth lost her mother-in-law, Bernice, at age 93. The first of March, 2004, Ruth, who had seldom a sick day in her life, was diagnosed with cancer. She fought back with two operations, radiation for the bone cancer, and chemo for the tissue cancer, and by September 30th she seemed to have the cancer in remission. In October she began to have some problems, and on the 21st she was again under radiation treatment, then seeing little help, she was brought home on the 29th where she died Friday, November 5, 2004.

She is survived by her husband, Stan, one son, one daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
