Mr. Krippner was born on Jan. 24, 1918 in Steele County to Christian P. and Rebecca (Brush) Krippner. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. Following his honorary discharge from the Army he married Evelyn Zak on Oct. 22, 1946. The couple lived in their home on Mineral Springs Road in Owatonna for nearly sixty years. Mr. Krippner had worked as a custodian for St. Mary's School and Marian High School prior to working for the Owatonna Tool Company. Following his retirement from OTC, the couple enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family. For the past two years Mr. Krippner was a resident at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn who currently resides at Traditions of Owatonna; three sons Christian, Jr. (Pam) of Seguin, Texas; Allen "Al" of Owatonna and Doug (Lisa) of Elk River; two daughters Anna (Bob) Mills of Medford, Ore. and Linda Krippner of Owatonna; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday June 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna with the Rev. Edward McGrath officiating. Friends may greet the family on Sunday, June 1 from 5-7 p.m. at Brick - Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Road.) and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the church. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery of Owatonna. Military honors will be rendered by the Steele County Funeral Detail. Funeral arrangements completed with the Brick-Meger Funeral Home of Owatonna.
