She is survived by her daughters Joyle Gaumond of Salt Lake City, and Linda K. "Brandi" Hatten of Scarsdale, Ariz.; and a, son, Lyle B. Hatten of Kenwood, Calif.
Julia was born July 29, 1912, in Downey, (Bannock County) Idaho. She became a Montana resident in 1947 and was well known in the Conrad area as a homemaker, Girl Scout leader, and supporter of the Democratic Party. She loved to dress up in her wonderful outfits and go dancing at the local venues as often as possible. She met her last husband, Louis Layman, when he asked her to a local dance. Their song became "Peg of My Heart." They moved to Great Falls in 1990 and continued to dance there for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Louis; and a son, Dick Norris.
