Dorothy was born in Marion, Indiana to Joseph Jerome and Helen (Hartman) Wesling, and they preceded her in death. She married Herbel McClure in 1926 and he preceded her in death in 1976. She was a homemaker and a seamstress with Brunts of Gas City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gas City and was also a member of the Women's Society at the church.

Survivors include daughter, Marjorie L. (Donald) Barker, Gas City, IN; son, Herbel L. (Jackie) McClure, Hartford City, IN; son, Larry L. (Becky) McClure, Winter Haven, FL; daughter, Judy A. Rogers, Gas City, IN; 21 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by a son, Robert McClure.
