During his teen years, Charley moved from Whitley Co, KY, to Campbell Co, TN. It is likely he followed his brothers, George & Bert, to the area. They worked in the coal mines and Charley did too. At the age of 21, the short, slender young man with blue eyes and brown hair, married a Tennessee girl and settled in Newcomb. He and his wife had 7 children - 3 girls and 4 boys. Their children were--Margie, Emory, Lora M, Ruth, John, Earl, and Buster.
