Author. A writer of science fiction novels, he is best known for the books "Rogue Moon" (1960) and "Who?" (1958), which was made into a 1974 film adaptation starring Elliott Gould. He was born Algirdas Jonas Budrys in Konigsberg, East Prussia and raised in New York. After attending the University of Miami (Florida) and Columbia University, he began his career as an editor for different publications. Among his other works are "False Night" (1954), "The Falling Torch" (1959), "The Furious Future" (1964) and "Michaelmas" (1977).
