The sad news of the death of John Klunenberg reached here last week. John died or disease in France while serving with the U.S army. He arrived in France last April and was severely wounded on the 8th day of October.
John Klunenberg, son of Bernard H. and Bernadine Klunenberg, was born June 30, 1889 at Arcadia, Iowa. In 1892, he moved with his parents, three sisters and three brothers to a farm east of Ashton, where he lived until he entered the armed services. John ws wounded in action and died in a hospital in France., December 20, 1918. About four years later his body was brought to the parish cemetery here in Ashton.
