John H. Anderson, 72, of Sioux City, died Monday, June 16, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Chaplin John McKinley of St. Luke's Regional Medical Center will officiate, with burial at Graceland Park Cemetery.

John was born Dec. 14, 1935, the son of Fred and Edith (Cook) Anderson. He married Violet F. Goulette on Nov. 9, 1959, in Sioux City.

He was employed as a truck driver with Brower Construction.

In his free time, he loved to go to the ball park to watch baseball games, any local game, including T-ball and Little League. He also loved working outside in his yard and flower garden.

He is survived by seven daughters, Judy and Ted Greger of Wagner, S.D., Stella and Roy Clark of Omaha, "Kitty" and Richard French of Sioux City, Debbie and John Swaney of Minnesota, Rebecca and Rod Allen of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Trudy and Rob Faulk of Sioux City, and Stacey and Tony Murphy of Sioux City; a brother, a sister, 16 grandchildren, 19-great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and five brothers.
