Ella Mae Waddle Baker, 86 years of age, Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, January 30th, 2004 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Ella was born in Popularville, Kentucky on November 6th, 1917, daughter of the late Matt A. Waddle and Amanda Rayburn Waddle.

Ella was a retired school teacher and was affiliated with the Somerset First Baptist Church.

Ella was survived by one son, George Richard "Dick" (and Diania) Baker; two daughters, Nancy B. (and Ray, deceased) Cooper, and Mary B. (and Richard) Dawson; ten grandchildren, George Richard Baker Jr., Paul Martin Baker, John Mark Baker, Carolyn Cooper, Ellen Terry Roddy, Amanda Terry Bourne, Jan Terry Sproul, Timothy Adam Baker, Rebekah Baker Boyd, and Alice Cooper Satterfield; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Amanda Waddle; her husband, Paul M. Baker, whom she married on June 27th, 1938, in Bowling Green, Kentucky; two brothers, Lewis Waddle and Fred Waddle; four sisters, Ina Bolton, Elizabeth Brody, Maggie Edwards and Nancy Bishop; a son-in-law, Ray Cooper; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Zumwalde.

Funeral services were held in the Chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Bill Adcock officiating.

Burial followed in the Somerset City Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
