He was married, April 19,1860 to Katherina Elizabeth Winter to which union ten children were born, five of whom have preceded him to the great beyond.
April 18,1924 he received a stroke of paralysis which caused his death seven days later. He leaves behind 3 sons, 2 daughters, 20 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren to mourn his death. Funeral services were held in the SDA Church and the remains taken to the Omega SDA cemetery for burial.
