Daniel L. Gagliardi, Jr. age 54 of Middletown, DE, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, July 3, 2008.
Born in Salem, NJ, he is the son of Mrs. Aileen (nee Kerchner) Gagliardi of Penns Grove and the late Daniel L. Gagliardi, Sr. He was raised in Penns Grove, NJ and graduated from Penns Grove Regional High School in 1972. He served four years in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1976. Following his military duty, Dan worked for Chrysler, All American Engineering, DuPont and most recently Delmarva Power. His greatest joys included spending time with his daughters and family, vacations in Sea Isle City, NJ, Oahu North Shore, HI, and fly fishing in Bozeman, MT. His hobbies included golf, hunting and most of all, he loved playing cards.
Dan was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and great uncle. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Mrs. Aileen (nee Kerchner) Gagliardi of Penns Grove, NJ; his daughters, Lisa Marie and Angela Michelle Gagliardi of Middletown, DE; step-son, Lawrence Melvin, Jr. and his sons, Michael Lawrence and Mathew Wayne of Wilmington, DE; sisters, Florence G. Jaros and her husband, Gary of Newark, DE, Rosalie Gagliardi of New Castle, DE, Danielle G. Morrison and her husband, Michael of Bear, DE, and his brother, Robert F. Gagliardi, Sr. (Debbie Beatty Rinnier) of Pennsville, NJ. Dan is also survived by his aunt, Jean G. Cannizzaro of Penns Grove, NJ and many cousins, nieces, nephews, a great niece and a great nephew.
A viewing will be held Tuesday from 9-11am in St. James RC Church, Beach Ave, Penns Grove, NJ where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Interment will follow in the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ.
