Henry Oliver Oberg, 78, New Haven, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, Washington. He was born March 9, 1923 at Stony Hill, the son of Charles Oberg and wife Emma, nee Kohlbusch. Mr. Oberg served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On June 19, 1954, he was united in marriage to Mary Louis at Dutzow. Mr. Oberg was a farmer most of his life and a clay driller. He was a member of the Mid-American Dairy Farmers Association and St. James Church, Stony Hill. Mr. Oberg was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Hilda Krull, Mamie Schneider and Verena Alberswerth; and four brothers, Milford Oberg, August Oberg, Louis Oberg and Arnold Oberg. He is survived by his wife, Mary Oberg, New Haven; two daughters, Sharon Kase, New Haven, and Linda Rohlfing and husband Roger, Washington; one brother, Oliver Oberg, Concordia; his mother-in-law, Frances Louis, New Haven; five grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 10, at St. James Evangelical Church, Stony Hill, with Rev. Doug Aldrich officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorials to the St. James Evangelical Church are preferred.
The Oberg family was served by Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.
