HESSTON — Ruby L. Dreier, 93, died Sunday (June 29, 2008) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She was born June 6, 1915, in Newton, the daughter of Irvie J. and Lucy Ann (Watkins) Miller.
She married the love of her life, Milford A. Dreier, on Aug. 23, 1935, in Newton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1997.
Ruby had a flair for fashion, which was noticeable in her homemaking, her 13 years as a floral designer for Ruzen's Flowers, 13 some years at Reber Fashions, and at her grandson's bakery, Dave's Delicacies. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Newton.
Ruby was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by children, Robert E. Dreier and wife, Karen, of Hesston, and Darla D. McCloud and husband, Terry, of Newton; grandchildren, Steve McCloud and wife, Vonna, of Newton, David McCloud and wife, Tanya, of Newton, Elizabeth Moulds and husband, Brad, of Hesston, Darci Weller and husband, Glen, of Sacramento, Calif., Andrea Hamm and husband, Wesley, of Walton, and Benjamin Dreier of Dodge City; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Raymond Miller; and sister, Mary Alice Reber.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton, with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Visitation also will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston, with funeral service to follow at the chapel at 2:30 p.m.
Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in rural Hesston.
Memorial donations may be made to Hickory Homes in Hesston in care of the funeral home.
