Mrs. Katie Mae Beall, who resided at Rt. 8, Frederick, died on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 21, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. Her husband, the late Stonewall Jackson Beall, predeceased her in April 1961.
She was born near Frederick, on March 11, 1887, the daughter of the late Edward L. and Anna M. Harshman Brunner. She was the granddaughter of the late Lewis Brunner, who served two terms as mayor of Frederick.
Surviving are three sons, John Francis Beall, at home; Claude Vincent Beall, Frederick, and Irving LeRoy Beall, Shookstown; and two daughters, Miss Mary Elizabeth Beall, at home, and Mrs. Edna M. Beall Guyton, Gambrills. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.
Mrs. Beall was a life-long member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren, the Church Women United, and a member of the Fahrney-Keeney Home Auxillary.
The family will receive friends at the Smith, Fadaley, Keeney and Basford Funeral Home (formally Etchison's), 106 East Church Street, on Saturday, Nov. 23rd and Sunday Nov 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov 25, Mrs. Beall will be removed to the Frederick Church of the Brethren at 10 a.m. to lie in state there until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Merlin E. Garber, her pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Mrs. Beall's memory to the March of Dimes of Frederick County, 251 West Patrick Street, Frederick, Md 21801.
