She was born on February 12, 1922 in Bloomfield, NJ a daughter of the late Leon H. and Marion (Condit) Hoag.
For thirty years, Carol was a devoted teacher at the Essex County Girls Vocational School. On September 29, 1945 in Orange, NJ she married Albert Wood and together they raised two children Diane and Raymond.
Since a young age, Carol enjoyed spending summers at the beach in Ocean Grove, NJ. She was a member of the Ocean Grove Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed volunteering at the Orange Memorial Hospital, paying bridge and treasured the time spent with her family.
She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren. Carol is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Diane and Richard Oliver of Towanda, Pa; her son and daughter-in-law: Raymond and Jan Wood of Pierson, Fla; her special grandchildren: Matt and Cynthia Gannon-Cooper of Athens, Pa; Mark and Kelly Gannon of Wysox, great grandchildren: Abigayle, Alexandra, Ave Gannon, Evan Cooper. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Wood in 1996.
Abiding with her wishes, there will be no services. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family and she will be buried with her husband in the Rosedale Cemetery in New Jersey.
