He moved around for the Pittsburgh Silver Peak Mining Co., and Sagus power division, in 1911 he returned to Redlands buying a interest in a car dealership selling, Lozier, Studebakers, Chalmers and Locomobile. His brother John P.Tripp was a partner with two others. In 1919 he recieved the city council's appointment to city treasurer.
He was a Mason, Elk, Country Club member and member of the Citrus Avenue Methodist Church. His son is a member of the San Bernardino state motor patrol.
