Rosmarie Sabine Varga
March 23, 1931 - July 6, 2008
Rosmarie Varga passed away peacefully on July 6, 2008 after an extended illness with her loving husband Lou at her side. Throughout her life Rosmarie reflected the St. Francis of Assisi prayer by her loving spirit and warm hugs.
Rosmarie was born in Berlin, Germany to Konrad and Dorothea Koeppen. She became a citizen of the United States on Oct. 16, 1959 and lived in Glendale, Calif., before moving to Walker Basin, Calif., on July 4, 1977. She loved the Lord, her family and all the years of activities with school sports, Future Farmers of America and family gatherings. She enjoyed fishing and many trips to the family cabin in the Piute Mountains. Rosmarie bore the cross of her illness with grace and dignity and through her prayers she was and is the wind beneath her family's wings.
Rosmarie is survived by her devoted husband Lou; daughter Ursula; sons and daughter-in-law, Louis and Lisa Varga; Martin and Jeanne Varga; grandchildren Elizabeth, Ben, Andrew, Michael, Michelle and Megan; great-grandchildren Gabriel, Spencer and Faith,
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude towards all the hands that have helped their dear mother (Omi), especially April Harter and Nancy Huckstep. We also are thankful for the blessing of Optimal Hospice Care and their wonderful staff.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, Walker Basin Station, 23250 Walker Basin Rd. Father Patrick Geo will officiate. A brief reception will be held in Rosmarie's honor after Mass, followed by the interment to be held at Rankin Cemetery. Funeral arrangements handled by Sierra Mortuary & Funeral Home, Lake Isabella, Calif.
