Christopher Webb, my 3rd cousin, sent this to me:
George grew up in Jackson County, Florida. Before George got married, his last name was Nealy. He owned a farm that was 400 acres. On the farm he had a little feather bed factory. His workers plowed the land with mules. On the farm they grew tobacco. In front of the house were pecan trees. On a fence near the house were vines that had scuppernongs. He lived in a country house with a large front porch. On the back porch was slop bucket for the pigs. George had two fire places in his house. The dining room had a long table and on one side of the table was a bench for the kids to sit on and on the other side of the table were chairs for the adults. In the middle of the table was a jug of moonshine. In the kitchen was a safe that the family keep their food in. The safe looked like a hutch. On Sunday, after church his family would have a feast. When lunch was ready Penelope "Neppie" would ring the bell.
It is said that George was the Mayor of Graceville. He was a stern man. In George's barn were old books that his grandson Bill loved to look at. George is buried at Damascus Baptist Church in Graceville, Florida.
