Mrs. Kraus Dies At 68 After Illness

Mrs. Mathilda Kraus, 68, 421 East Second street, died at 7:50 a.m. today at St. Agnes hospital after a two-week illness.
Mrs. Kraus was born Feb. 28, 1895, at Mt. Calvary, the daughter of the late Mathias and Eva Lanser Schmitz. She was married to Peter Kraus, who preceded her in death in 1937.
Survivors include two sons, Elmer Kraus, city, and Harold Kraus, St. Peter; four-sisters, Mrs. Robert Birschbach, Mt. Calvary and Miss Bella Schmitz, Mrs. Jennie Jurgensmier, and Mrs. Teresa Donovan. all of this city: and eight grandchildren. Three sisters also preceded her in death.
Funeral services wi11 be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Zacherl Funeral home and at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's church in St. Peter. The Rev. Joseph Bittle will officiate, with burial in St. Peter's cemetery.
The body will lie in state after 2 p.m. Monday at Zacherl Funeral home.
