Capt. Powers is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Philip Powers of 3285 Asbury Street, Dubuque, Iowa, and the husband of Mrs. Maxine W. Powers of R.R. #1, Box 373, Mount Vernon, Washington. He was one of eight children.
Awards: Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device, Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
