Born November 27, 1936 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of William W. and Mary H. Signor Hufnagle.
She was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and had worked as a manager at the Sheraton Hotel. Doris enjoyed playing golf and was the women's club champion at White Deer Golf Course in 1981. She started the Marion Stopper Golf Tournament. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Theodore J. "Ted" Houser Jr.; a son, Frederick N. (Gina) Steele of Peru, Ill.; two grandchildren, Katie and Jacob Steele; two brothers, Donald (Sharon) Hufnagle of Fla., Dennis (Caroline) Hufnagle of Collomsville, and a sister-in-law Sharon Hufnagle of Antes Fort.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Hufnagle.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Lynn A. Wheeler of Community Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be held in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday at Sanders Mortuary.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Doris's name be made to Community Baptist Church, 1853 State Rte. 87 Highway, Montoursville, PA 17754.
