Werner Matthew Voelker was born July 4, 1918 in Granite Township, Morrison County, MN, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Baumkamper) Voelker and passed away Thursday evening at Monticello-Big Lake Hospital in Monticello, MN.
Werner M. Voelker grew up in the Lastrup, MN area. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Werner married Mildred U. Walz on August 17, 1946 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. Together they farmed in Buh Township near Lastrup from 1946 to 1978. After retiring in 1978, Werner and Mildred came to reside in Little Falls, MN. Werner liked to putz with his car. He liked to keep it in "mint condition". He also liked reading and he was an avid Twins fan. Werner was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls and also a member of the Pierz American Legion.
He leaves in hope of resurrection to eternal life his wife, Mildred U. Voelker; two sons, Dennis O. Voelker of Brookings, SD and Glen W. Voelker of Little Falls, MN; one daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Linda) Przybilla of Monticello, MN; one brother Alphonse Voelker of Pierz, MN; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Schomer of Pierz, MN, Mrs. Eugenia Meyer of Pierz, MN, Mrs. Lavina Meyer of Pierz, MN; six grandchildren, Mark and Jeff Voelker, Matthew, Rene, Joel and Lisa Przybilla and many nieces and nephews.
Werner M. Voelker was preceded in death by his two brothers, Joseph and Othmar Voelker and four sisters, Tekla Voelker, Alma Schomer, Gesella Waninger and Erma Kowalzek.
