Maurice B. Becker, 79
Maurice B. Becker, a resident of Pierz, passed away Sept. 29, 2009, at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Pierz.

Maurice B. Becker was born June 8, 1930, in Morrison County to the late Frank and Rose (Virnig) Becker. He attended and graduated from Little Falls Community High School. Maurice was united in marriage to Theresia Tretter Sept. 20, 1955, at St. John's Catholic Church in Lastrup. Maurice was a member of the Pierz American Legion Post #341 for more than 50 years. He served on the Lastrup Creamery Board and served our country honorably during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz for the last 15 years and St. John's Catholic Church in Lastrup for 40 years. Maurice farmed with his beloved wife for over 40 years in Granite Township. He enjoyed bird watching, playing cards, building grandfather clocks and deer hunting. He was an avid bowler and loved watching the Minnesota Twins. Maurice especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grand -children. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

Maurice is survived by his wife Theresia Becker of Pierz; children Jeff (Bonnie) Becker of Little Falls, Gary (Luann) Becker of Little Falls, Valerie (Marvin) Thomas of Pierz, Rodney (Colleen) Becker of St. Paul, Marilyn (Alvin) Boser of Pierz, Karen (Terry) Froelich of Pierz, Maureen (Joe) Heisick of Pillager and Brian (Kelly) Becker of Pierz; brothers Oliver Becker and Francis Becker of the Twin Cities; sisters, Doris Hoffman and Florence Otremba of Pierz; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Maurice is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Rose Becker; twin brother Norbert Becker; and granddaughter Angela Becker.
