NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES.

DOUGLAS.

At high noon on Wednesday, Nov. 6th,at the home of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Andresen, three miles southwest of Douglas, Miss Lillian Andresen to Robert W. Hagel. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Beckman, of Burr. The bride wore a dress of cream colored lamb's down silk, trimmed in silk lace, ribbons and apple blossoms. The groom wore a suit of conventional black. After the ceremony all adjourned to the dining room, where the large table groaned under its heavy load of that which goes to supply the inner man. We then returned to the parlor where Mr. and Mrs. Hagel were presented with many useful articles as tokens of their friendship.

Obituary.

Mrs. Lillian E. Hagel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderson (sic), of Douglas, Neb., died at her home in Douglas, Dec. 24th, at the age of 38 years, 11 months and 14 days. She had been in poor health for two years past and yet had hoped that with the coming spring she might move with the rest of her family to the vacinity (sic) of Bladen and reside on a farm recently bought. But death overruled and claimed her after a long illness. She leaves her father and mother, one brother, Clarence Anderson (sic), two sisters, Mrs. Rose Roberts and Marie Anderson (sic), and one daughter, Lenora and one son, Darrel to mourn her untimely end.

The body was shipped to Bladen arriving here on Dec. 27th. funeral services having been held in Douglas. Interment was made in Plainview cemetery (sic), Rev. O. T. Moore officiating. A mixed quartette composed of Mrs. L. E. Spence, Mae Denton, J. P. Kroop and L. O. Moore rendered some appropriate music at the grave side.

MRS. HAGEL DEPARTS THIS LIFE

Estimable Woman Called by the Death Messenger Saturday Night

Mrs. Lillian Hagel passed away Saturday night about 12 o'clock as the result of a continued sickness with heart trouble and other afflictions. She began sinking Friday afternoon at which time the members of the family were summoned to her bedside.

Lillian E Andresen was born January 10, 1878 near Syracuse, Neb. She was married to Robert W. Hagel November 6, 1895, and to this union were born two children, Lenore N. Hagel and Darold R. Hagel, both of whom survive their mother. Otoe county (sic) has been her home practically all her life. Her death occurred at her home southwest of Douglas.

Besides her daughter and son Mrs. Hagel leaves her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Andresen; one brother, Clarence Andresen; and two sisters, Mrs. J. E. Roberts and Marie Andresen; all of Douglas.

Mrs. Hagel was known as a woman of many admirable traits of character and to those most intimately related she fulfilled her life's destiny faithfully and conscientiously. She had legions of friends who Lave been pained to learn of her declining health and her untimely departure from their midst.

A brief service was held at the home and from there the body was removed to the- Christian church for the funeral conducted by the minister, Rev. D. L. Hughes. The very large and beautiful array of flowers testified to the standing of Mrs. Hagel in the community. The body was taken to Bladen, Neb., for interment, so her last mortal resting place may be near those who cherish her memory most thoughtfully.
