William S. Theilen, 89, of Springfield Manor died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday at Springfield Manor. He was born in Pleasant Plains, the son of William G. and Anke Cordes Theilen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie, in 1982; three daughters, Elma Binetsch, Norma Nowak and Carolyn Leady; and one grandson.
Mr. Theilen was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Chatham and a 50-year member of the Sangamon County Farm Bureau. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are two sons, Herbert G. of Chatham and Loren of Corryton, Tenn.; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one sister, Anna Theilen of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Glenn Strohschein officiating. Burial: Chatham Cemetery.
