Richard Kammerer "Dick" Stewart, 72 of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, died August 22, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital-East, Lee's Summit.
He was born August 11, 1936 in Omaha, Neb., the son of Stephen E. and Mary Helen (Kammerer) Stewart. On August 17, 1963, Dick was united in marriage to Norma Jeanne Yoder in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dick worked in Sales & Marketing for AT&T for 33 years retiring in 1989. Following his retirement he owned and operated an appraisal business in the area, and later served as the building commissioner in Pleasant Hill.
He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He also served in the Army National Guard.• Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne of the home; one daughter, Susan Jeanne Stewart and her husband, Mark Mierzejewski of Kirkland, Wash.; one sister, Marylin M. Stewart of Omaha, Neb.; one brother Robert E. Stewart and his wife Connie of Salina, Kans.; six nephews Eric, Edward, William, Michael, Stephen, and Dean.
Funeral Services were held August 28 at the Pleasant Hill First United Methodist Church. Reverend Carl Knapp officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Mark Mierzejewski, Edward Stewart, Eric Stewart, Robert Stewart, William Stewart, & Frank Yoder.
