Constantina was the oldest child of Johann Pyka (1821-1896) and Francisca Jaszkowitz (1821-1904), baptised Sep 6, 1846 at Sw. Michala in Rozmierz, Poland. She was about nine when her family arrived at the Port of Galveston Dec 3, 1854.

John Adamietz and Constantina were married May 10 1866 at St. Stanislaus Church in Bandera. The couple raised eleven children, and were active members of the parish. Following in the footsteps of her mother-in-law, Constantina was a mid-wife and attended the births of many children in the Bandera area. She died a few months before her 89th birthday.

Constantina's first child, Valentine J. Adamietz, was born February 15, 1867 and died May 5, 1921, age 54. He is buried in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana See FAG #25723843 unfortunately the birth date shown there, 1857, is incorrect. See 1870 & 1880 Bandera census.

Felix Paul Adamietz was born 18 Nov 1875 in Bandera, and died 13 Oct 1901, before death certificates were required, age 25 years 10 months. In an interview published by local historian J. Marvin Hunter, Constantina is quoted as saying that her son Felix, "died 1901 in the mines at Morenci, Arizona" but his burial here in St. Stanislaus cemetery contradicts the author's memory of their conversation. His name appears on the 1900 Bandera tax assesments.
