KORTE--Mrs. Adolph Korte dies; funeral services Monday
Mrs. Adolph Korte, 76, of 3004 20th street, died Friday night in St. Mary's hospital. She had been seriously ill the last three weeks.
Funeral services will be at 1:15 p.m. Monday at the Gass Funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, Shell Creek, with Pastor William Saas officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Gass chapel after 11 a.m. Sunday.
A lifetime resident of this community, Mrs. Korte was born Dec. 11, 1883, as Clara Louise Heibel, daughter of Siebert and Louise Lueke Heibel. She attended District 2 school.
On April 16, 1910 she was married to Adolph Korte, and they farmed in this community until 1945 when they retired and moved to town. Mr. Korte died Nov. 9, 1958.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, Shell Creek.
Survivors include two stepchildren, Lester Korte and Mrs. Sam Drinnin of Columbus; four grandchildren, Sam Drinnin, jr., Mrs. Don Rodehorst, Grace Drinnin and June Korte; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles E., Paul and Walter Heibel, and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Roth and Mrs. Maude Albers, all of Columbus. One sister preceded her in death.
