Paul Bever
Paul J. Bever, 75, died at 12:18 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after a short illness.
Mr. Bever was born June 30, 1922, at Grant City.
He moved from Nevada to Joplin 31 years ago.
He was self-employed as a doughnut maker.
He was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Joplin.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He married Mary F. Nickelson (sic) [Nicholson] on Dec. 29, 1958, at Tulsa, Okla. She survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, Roger G. Bever, Baxter Springs, Kan., Jeffery L. Bever, of the home, and Ernest L. Bever, Lawrence, Kan.; two daughters, Florence L. Hickman, Joplin, and Ruth Ann Gaston, Bradington, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
Arrangements are pending with Abbott Funeral Home, Baxter Springs.

Services for Paul J. Bever, 75, Joplin, who died Thursday, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ Community United Methodist Church, Joplin.
The Rev. Chris Sloan and Max Raney will officiate.
Burial will be in Pence Cemetery, east of Baxter Springs, Kan.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Abbott Funeral Home, Baxter Springs.
Pallbearers will be John Hickman, Chris Gastineau, Tony Gastineau, Chad Curry, Jimmie Putnam and Mark Harrington.
