John Henry Stutheit, son of Frederich H. Stutheit and wife Caroline, nee Beckmann, was born April 19, 1867, in Nemaha County, Nebraska, Benton Precinct. He was bapized in infancy, and confirmed the 10 day of April 1881, by Rev. Wm. Beckmann at the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Long Branch. He was united in holy wedlock with Christine Rockemann the 18 day of Nov. 1899.
This union was blessed with six children. Two sons preceding him in death, Edwin in 1899 and John in 1934. Surviving are two sons, George and Edward, two daughters, Adella and Mrs. Otto Boeck, seven grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Reinke, Byron,NE. Mrs. Maria Beckmann and Mrs. Henry Beckmannn of Auburn, NE. and a host of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were: H.J. Stutheit, Julius Stutheit, Theodore Stutheit, Henry Buethe, Rhinehardt Beckmann and Wm. Goos.
Note: the cause of death was dropsy and cancer. He was 72 years, 7 months and 12 days of age at death. He was orginist at St.Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. (Stutheit) from early youth to his death. He died at home, Johnson, NE.
