Raphael Frank Beuthin, age 84, died on Jan. 31, 2007, at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth. He was born to Irwin and Adela (Schmitz) Beuthin on Oct. 13, 1922. He married Linda Hoffman June 11, 1947. She preceded him in death on April 19, 1984. He later married Fran (Schlimgen) Michels on Oct. 18, 1986. Raphael was very proud of his farm and family. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marxville and also a past member of the Wisconsin Heights School Board, and also a past chairman on the township board for the Village of Mazomanie. Survivors include his wife, Fran of Black Earth; his children, Stan (Karen) Beuthin of Mazomanie, Diane (Rick) Boettcher of Mazomanie; his grandchildren, Gregg (Pamela) Beuthin, Todd (Kristi Gaffney) Beuthin, Janelle (Troy Hauge) Boettcher, Erin (fianc, Paul Lenerz) Boettcher; great-grand-daughter, Rachel Beuthin; brother, Marvin (Gloria) Beuthin; sister, Margaret Basthemer; Fran's children, Teresa Fisher of Madison, Raymond (Debra) Michels of Cross Plains, Cecilia (Mike) Phillips of Cross Plains, Janet (John) Wipperfurth of Sauk City, Joseph (Emily) Michels of Madison, William Michels of Dane, Kristine (Mike) Bradley of Sauk City, Monica (Mark) Nolden of Lodi; Fran's grandchildren: Nick Fisher; Angela, Sara, Curtis, Jacob and Paula Michels; Jodi Phillips; Isaac, Luke and Scott Wipperfurth; Anthony and Justine Bradley; Nathaniel and Amanda Nolden; sisters-in-law, Ruby Hoffmann, Shirley and Ruth Schlimgen; brothers-in-law, Bernard (Rita) Schlimgen, Norbert (Raegean) Schlimgen, Edwin (Breda) Schlimgen; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by step-grandson, Adam Phillips; four brothers-in-law, Frank Basthemer, Herman Hoffmann, and Lawrence and Robert Schlimgen. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marxville, at 11 a.m. on Feb. 2, 2007. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
