William Turner Grant Sr., 80, of Fort Smith died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at Sparks Regional Medical Center. He was born in Little Rock June 16, 1928, to William Grant and Nannie Turner Grant. He was retired from the city of Fort Smith, where he held several positions and retired as superintendent of wastewater management. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Oak Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Audria of the home; son, William T. Grant Jr., son, John R. Grant and wife Fonda; two grandchildren, Nik and Elyse Grant, all of Fort Smith.

His extended family is stepdaughter, Lisa Horne and her son, Hunter of Fort Smith; stepson, Mitch Bogan, his wife, Debbie and their daughter, Courtney of Mountainburg.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Horne, Nik Grant, David Tidwell, Larry Schiffner, Bill Bardrick, Mitch Bogan. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Riley, Brad Thompson, Gene Blevins, Jim Stout and Leroy Adams.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
