He was born on June 18, 194, on a farm southwest of St. Benedict, KS, the son of William Edward and Anna Engelken Stallbaumer. He attended St. Mary's School at St. Benedict and helped on the family farm. As a young man, he went to Iowa with three other young men and did seasonal work shucking corn.
On April 10, 1940, he married Marie Deters at Sacred Heart Chruch, Baileyville, KS. They celebrated their golden anniversary in 1990. They lived and farmed west of Seneca for four years before moving to a farm northwest of Centralia. He farmed and raised livestock. In 1977, they moved to Seneca.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Society at the church, both at Seneca. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Church at Baileyville. Paul was a hard-working man who enjoyed farming and raising cattle.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, of Seneca; son, Leon Stallbaumer, Centralia, KS; sisters, Edna Sack, Seneca, KS; Mary Ann Hunninghake, Seneca, KS; Alma Sack, Denver, CO; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two infant children, Gerald, on December 3, 1942; and Jeanette, on November 27, 1943; his parents; brothers, Herman, Norbert, Melvin, Eugene, Victor, Sylvester and Walter; sisters, Irene Fangman, Marcella Rottinghaus, Doris Stallbaumer and Florence Fangman.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Seneca, KS. Burial was in the church cemetery.
