MRS. EMMA REESE DIES SUDDENLY

Mrs. Emma Reese, 76, of 303 West 27th, died unexpectedly at noon Monday.

A resident of Kearney 19 years, she lived in Cedar township for many years before coming here.

Surviving are her husband, William Reese, and eight daughters and sons, William Reese of
Poole, Minnie Gerken of Kearney, Carl Reese of Auburn, Wash., Alvina Fiedler, Frieda Jochem and Elsie Buchmann of Poole, August and Louis Reese of Davenport,Ia.

Funeral services will be conducted from the home at 1 p. m. Friday and last rites at 1:30 p.m. from the Zion Lutheran church, with the Rev. E. O. Potratz officiating. Burial will be in
St. John’s cemetery in Cedar township.

Mrs. Wm. Reese (nee Emma Loseke) was born April 12, 1865, in Platte County, Neb., where she was reared in a Christian family in the Lutheran faith. In 1883 she was married to Wm. Reese of Columbus, Neb. The family came to Buffalo County in 1905, settling near Poole and retired from the farm in Kearney in 1924. Mrs Reese was the mother of ten children, eight of which survive Wm. of Poole, Minnie Gerken of Kearney, Carl of Auburn, Wash, Alvina Fiedler of Pleasanton, August of Davenport, Ia, Frieda Jochem of Poole, Louis of Rock Island, IL, and Elsie Buchmann of Poole. At Columbus three brothers, one sister and one half sister mourn her departure. Henry, Louis, August, Rosie and Katie. There are 37 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 at Zion Lutheran church vvith The Rev. E O. Potratz in charge Internment was made at St. John's cemetery near Poole.
