Mrs. Henry Junker, resident of Jefferson County for over 79 years, passed away at her home in Fairbury, Nebr., Sunday, December 15, 1946 after an extended illness. She had reached the age of 83 years, 11 months and 8 days.

Adelia Margaret Meenen was born January 7, 1863 in Livingston County, Illinois the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harms J. Meenen. When 12 years she came with her parents to Jefferson County where she has since made her home.

She married Herman Malstead in Fairbury in 1881 and to them four children were born, three of whom survive her, George, Henry and Mrs. Clara Junker. Mr. Malstead passed away a number of years ago.

On August 12, 1894 she married Henry Junker in Fairbury and to them three children were born, two of whom preceded her in death. In this family there were also six step children who knew her as a loving mother. She also reared two grandchildren, William and Berniece Schenk. Mr. Junker preceded her in death several years ago.

During her active years she was a member of the East Gladstone Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church with the pastor Rev. M.Q. Stevenson, officiating. Burial in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, northwest of Fairbury. (The Fairbury Journal, Fairbury, NE, December 19, 1946)
