Delphos, July 21 - The body Cpl. Harold F. Flanagan, hero of World War II, will arrive in Delphos Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Columbus distribution center, according to a telegram received Tuesday evening by the Kolkmeyer funeral home here.
He died of injuries sustained in action Jan 1, 1945 in a hospital of Manchester, England. He entered service Mar. 18, 1943.
Prior to his induction into the Army he was employed by the Superior Coach Corp. at Lima. He was born here Feb. 19, 1923, and was the son of James and Margaret Flanagan.
Surviving besides his parents are a daughter, Karen Sue; a brother Robert, here and three sisters, Jeanette, Helen and Margaret, all at home.
Funeral services will be held in St. John's Catholic church here at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the American Leglion post here. The body will remain at the funeral home until church services.
