Jacob M. Ehrhart Sr., 70,of Harrisburg, formerly of York, entered into rest after a lengthy illness at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2008, at his daughter's residence.
Jacob was born in York, on August 11, 1938, and was the son of the late Jacob Neuhaus and Beulah Ehrhart.
Jacob retired in July 1976, after 22 years with the U.S. Navy. He is survived by three sons, Jacob M. Ehrhart, Jr. of York, Brian J. Ehrhart of Dover, and Justin M. Ehrhart and companion, Misty Forry of Dover; four daughters, Loana S. Tangert of Harrisburg, Heather Flinchbaugh and husband, Donald of York County, Toleia A. Haecker and husband, Gary of Bulverde, Texas, and Bethanie D. Manrique and husband, George of San Antonio, Texas; and 14 grandchildren, Sheila Kemper, Shannon Kemper, Tristian Ehrhart, Matthew Ehrhart, Jessica Haecker, Travis Haecker, Tyler Haecker, Angie Flinchbaugh, Danny Flinchbaugh, and Dustin Flinchbaugh. He was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Ehrhart; a daughter, Rosalinda M. Ehrhart; and one sister.
Following cremation a graveside memorial service will take place at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
