KEMP, Okla. - Juanita Doris (Garrett) Walton, of Kemp, Okla. passed away Wednesday Oct. 1, 2008 at her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at the Kemp Church of Christ in Kemp Okla. with Jan Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Kemp Cemetery.
She was born on Dec. 12, 1919, in Dow, Okla., daughter of Otto Garrett and Ressie Ames Garrett. She married Lem Walton on Dec. 23, 1934 in Carpenters Bluff. She worked in the Liberty and Yuba Schools.
Surviving are her sons, Willie Ray and Thu Walton of Killeen and Billy Murl and Kathy Walton of Kemp; daughters, Betty and Willie Buchanan of Oklahoma City, Eyvonne West of Denison, Burma and Jim Daley of Kemp and Nancy and Charles Cleveland of Durant; one special sister-in-law, Toni Garrett Lewisville; brother, Vernon (Mary) Garrett of Kemp; half brothers, Garry (Helen) Garrett and Eddie (Hazel) Garrett, all of Oklahoma City, Nathan (Tammy) Garrett of Calera, Okla., Timmy (Sonya) Garrett of Durant and Calvin Garrett of Bosley, Okla.; sister, Bobbie Jean Morton of Lewisville; half sisters, Marla (Tommy) Kelsey of Colbert, Teresa (Larry) Scoggins of Calera, Rhonda (George) Anthony of Haynesville, Kan., LaDonna Condor of Denison and Angela Kisser of Calera, Okla.; 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lem Walton; two grandchildren, Ronnie Walton and Anna Witt; two brothers, Otto Coleman and Kenneth Carroll Garrett; and one sister, Wanda Shackleford.
