Funeral services for Loraine Tatum, 89 of Lincoln, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau, Texas with Rev. Paul Hartfield officating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
Mrs. Tatum died on Monday, December 3, 2012 at St. Mark's Medical Center in La Grange.
Loraine Louise Beisert Tatum was born in Loebau, Texas on July 1, 1923 to Louis Beisert and Melita (Kloss) Beisert. She was received in God's Kingdom of Grace through the sacrament of Holy Baptism and confirmed in the Christian faith at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau.
Red, as she was fondly called, was united in marriage to Henry Tatum in Houston in 1950. She loved playing dominoes and fishing.
Red is survived by her brothers, Alvin Beisert, Ruben Beisert, Alfred Beisert and Ernie Beisert; her sisters, Elnora Medack, Esther Exner, Grace Rackel, Gladys Iselt, Elna Moerbe, Jeanette Benignus and Helen Beisert as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; three brothers, Willy (Boy) Beisert, Milton Beisert and Robert Beisert and three sisters, Frieda Schulze, Leona Schulze and Corine Iselt.
In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to assist the family with Red's final expenses.
