Services for Bertha Marie Fowler, 89, of Longview, are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the chapel of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road, with Deacon John K. Shaffer officiating. The committal ceremony will follow in the Welch Garden Court. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Fowler passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Fowler was born February 17, 1919, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Martin P. and Minnie May Strange Miranda. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen K. and Allan R. Franklin of Magnolia; son, Vincent Graevet Fowler of Longview; friend, R.K. Coley of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Randall Bruce and Linda R. Fowler of Berryville, Ark.; grandchildren, Stacey, Jeremy, Christopher, Logan, Adam and Joshua; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Cydney, Tyler, and Lucy.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart'sWay Hospice of North East Texas, 1306 Pine Tree Rd., Longview, TX 75604.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, October 17, 2008, at Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road.
