MRS. MARCELĻLUS ALTMANN
Monday shortly after seven o'clock p. m., Mrs. Marcellus Altmann, nee Walburga Preisinger, died at the home of her son, Rupert Altmann in West Newton. She had been ailing since the latter part of November and had been confined to her bed for many weeks, suffering with dropsy which was the cause of her demise.
Mrs. Altmann was born February 30. 1854 in Bavaria, Germany. When she was still very young she came to America with her parents and they settled in Albany, In 1858 they re- moved to this vicinity where she spent the rest of her life. In 1875 she was united in marriage to Marcellus Altmann, who preceded her in death fourteen years ago last September. Their union was blessed with nine children, six of whom survive; namely, Rupert, West Newton:
Mrs. Joe Beyer, New Ulm; Mrs. Joe Retzlaf. Sleepy Eye; Mrs. Joe Kienlen, and Frank Altmann, of West Newton. Funeral services were held this morning in the St. George Catholic church and interment was made in the cemetery of St. George.
