Vera Kimmel was born on Sept 6, 1935 to James B and Margie Jack in Coleman. She was a loving wife for the past 10 Years to Walter E. Kimmel who survives her. Vera and Walt met at the Mid-City AA program on Aug 25, 1982 and were united in marriage on Dec 28, 1986. They moved to Sulphur Springs in 1996.
Mrs Kimmel was a 1952 graduate of Paschal High School in Fort Worth and attended various colleges on a musical scholarship. She sang semi- professionally for several church organization. She ended her musical career singing with the Fort Worth Opera Choir as the leading choruster after 18 years.
Vera was employed for eight years at General Dynamics Lockheed Corp as a technical computer data analyst. Because of cancer she retired her career as an administrative secretary for the Second Court of Appeals for the State of Texas.
St Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church of Fort Worth is where she was a confirmed member.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister, Francis Jack McNair.
Other survivors include: Brother, Maj. James B Jack Jr (USA Ret) of Fort Worth; daughter, Layn Stewart of Arlington; son, Clayton H. Stewart and his wife, Ewa of Norman Okla; stepdaughter, Jerrilyn Mumma of Azle; stepsons, Russel B. Tate of Denton, Steven R Kimmel of Wichita Falls, and Walter W. Kimmel and his wife, Rhonda of Sulphur Springs; and seven grandchildren.
