Having been in declining health, Clara Vietor died Tuesday morning, Feb. 29, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Center in Lennox, SD. She attained the age of 95 years, five months and 24 days. She was the last surviving member of the Henry Andreessen family.

Clara (Andreessen) Vietor was born on a farm north of Lennox on Jul. 5, 1904, a daughter of Henry and Hilkea (Valentien) Andreessen. She attended rural school and grew to womanhood there.

On Jan. 27, 1926, she was united in marriage to Eiko Vietor at Rock Rapids, IA.

Following their marriage, the couple farmed south of Lennox until 1948, when they retired and moved into Lennox. Her husband preceded her in death on Mar. 11, 1974. She continued to make her home in Lennox, and became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center here on Sep. 11, 1992.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by two sons and their wives: Walter and MaryLou Vietor of Sioux Falls, SD, and Gene and Marsha Vietor of Manchester, TN; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
