Lola C. Ervin, 71, of Donovan, died Friday (Oct. 31, 2008) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
Burial will be in Prairie Dell Cemetery, Iroquois. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Ervin was a certified nursing assistant in both nursing homes and in the home-care field. She was born June 18, 1937, in Chicago, the daughter of Ira Joseph and Mildred Helen Stemm Parsch. Her husbands, Gerald Mense and Billie Ervin, are deceased. She attended Donovan Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading.
Surviving are her companion, Tim Wendel of Cowden; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Mense of Wisconsin; William Mense and Debbie Longton of Watseka, Kenneth Mense and Jody Wolford of Iroquois; one daughter, Kristine Mense and Michael Carlson of Donovan; seven stepchildren; nine grandchildren, several stepgrandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ruby Parsch of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Sylvia Raucci of Sandwich, Shirley Toohey of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Ritta Eihlers of Pittwood.
Her parents are deceased.
