ALDERSON — Robert Lee Persinger, 78, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at his home after a long illness.

Born Dec. 10, 1929, in Sinks Grove, he was the son of the late Opie and Blanche Persinger. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Mr. Persinger was a resident of Alderson and was formerly of Ronceverte, member of Baptist Church and was retired from Mulligan Lumber in Ronceverte.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sarah Persinger; and one son, Buddy Wayne Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Crystal M. Persinger of Alderson; seven daughters, Tabatha Moore and husband, Keith, of Columbus, Ohio, Dianna Craft and husband, Danny, of Alderson, Phyllis Richmond and husband, Noah, of Jumping Branch, Vickie Price and husband, Bill, of Asbury, Sandra Wurm and husband, Jim, of Pence Springs, Edwina Mullins of Daniels and Diane Price of Ronceverte; a son, Joseph M. Persigner of Alderson; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Longanacre Funeral Home, Ft. Spring, with Pastor Stewart Farley officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church Cemetery, Alderson.

Friends may call noon until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home in Fort Spring.
