Mrs. Nitsche passed away the evening of Thursday, May 2, 2013 at her home in Giddings.

Evelyn Beatrice (Bohl) Nitsche was born on May 7, 1925 in the community of Gus in Burleson County, Texas to Hans & Marie (Ahrendt) Bohl. She was baptized on August 2, 1925 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Old Dime Box, Texas by Rev. O.A. Meyer. Evelyn confessed her faith through the Rite of Confirmation on September 20, 1938 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lexington, Texas with Rev. Willard N. Ander officiating. Her confirmation memory verse was Psalm 143:10, "Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God; Thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprighteousness". She was united in marriage to Emil Paul Nitsche on March 28, 1948 in Thorndale, Texas by Rev. Willard N. Ander. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Carolyn Ann and Jimmy Wayne.

Evelyn transferred her church membership to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, Texas where Emil was a member. In the mid 1960's, they transferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings where Evelyn was a member of the Dorcas Circle and the Ladies Aid. She was a store clerk at Richter's Five & Dime Store in Giddings for many years and enjoyed gardening.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil Nitsche; her son, Jimmy Nitsche; her daughter, Carolyn Galipp; her great grandson, Justin Arldt; her sister, Velma Strandtman & her husband, Norman; parents-in-law, Herman & Clara Nitsche; sisters-in-law, Louise Stuessy & her husband, Herbert and Ruth Sledge & her husband, Harry; brothers-in-law, Robert Nitsche, Louis Nitsche & his wife, Elsie and Leonard Budewig and a nephew, Rev. Glenn Budewig.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Kathy Maass and her children, Aaron Maass and Megan Maass and great, great granddaughter, Dana Ann Arldt all of Giddings; her grandson, Wayne Galipp & his wife, Melissa of Giddings and their daughter, Kari Galipp of Ft. Worth; her granddaughter, Christie Jenkins & her husband, Thomas and their children, T.J., Chris and Brittny Jenkins all of Seguin, Texas; her brother, Carl Bohl & his wife, Connie of Austin; sisters-in-law, Laverne Nitsche Falke of Giddings and Emma Budewig of San Angelo and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Galipp, Thomas Jenkins, T.J. Jenkins, Chris Jenkins and Aaron Maass.

Memorials may be made to the Forward in Faith Building Program at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 North Grimes Street, Giddings, Texas 78942 or to the charity of one's choice.
