Irene Vos Dykstra went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2008. Irene was born in Warffum, Groningen, in the Netherlands. She immigrated to the United States in 1930.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Vos in 1968; her husband, Raymond Dykstra in 1999; her son, Calvin Vos in 2001; her grandson, Duane Vos in 1985; her step-daughter, Pat Watts in 2007; and her step-grandson, Todd Watts in 1990.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane and Alyn Rensink, of Concrete, WA; five sons, John and Pat Vos, of Clinton, WI, Bud and Yon Hui Vos, of Bow, WA, Stan "Butch" Vos, of Snohomish, WA, Ed and Brenda Vos, of Oso, WA, and Tim and Lisa Vos, of Gold Bar, WA; one step-son, Pete Dykstra, of Grand Rapids, MI; and two step-daughters, Jean and Bill Boyd, of Rockford, MI, and Deb and Lorenzo Perales, of Grand Rapids, MI.
She was blessed with 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren; and she was loved by her many friends and relatives. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Hospice and Lynda Jacobson for their loving and compassionate care.
Viewing will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m., on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at the First Christian Reformed Church, 701 West Blackburn, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at the First Christian Reformed Church, with a reception to follow. Following the reception, there will be a graveside service at 2 p.m., at the Sultan Cemetery, 32820 Cascade View Drive, Sultan, WA 98294.
