David is survived by his wife and four sons; Michael Schlimgen of San Marcos, TX., Terry Schlimgen of Hot Springs Village, Greg Schlimgen of Hot Springs and Scott Schlimgen of Rome, Italy; two daughters, Patti Hunt of Hot Springs and Vicki Wyatt of Carencro, LA.; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
David enlisted in the Air Force in 1945 and served twenty-two years, first as a gunner on B-29's and later as a personnel Sergeant Major, retiring in 1967. He worked at General Cable plant as foreman in the casting department until 1978 at which time he became a rural mail carrier, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
